Description "FUTABA HPS CB500 Car 0,06s/25,5kg High Power RC Car Servo with Metal Gearhead"
Description
Experience the new HPS servo generation! One of the most powerful Futaba servos ever! The Futaba HPS-CB500 is specially designed for RC cars/boats. A new HPS brushless motor has been developed for the HPS servos, which remains significantly cooler in operation. Together with the new HPS technology, this results in lower power consumption over the entire operating time. Like any S.BUS2 servo, the HPS-CB500 can be connected to all conventional receivers with PWM modulation and can be optimally adapted to the respective operating conditions by programming.

The servo is fully compatible with the SR mode ("Super Response": fastest signal transmission) of the T7XC, T7PX and the new T4PM system.

The servos can be addressed in various ways:

1. with the handy SBC-1 programmer
2. on the PC with the USB adapter CIU-3
3. at the S.BUS connection of the transmitter

The following parameters can be set:
- S.BUS channel assignment
- Servo reverse polarity
- Soft start (On / Off)
- Mode selection in case of signal failure Hold or Free
- Soft servo run (On / Off)
- Servo position (servo tester)
- Servo centre adjustment +/- 300 µs (approx. 30 degrees)
- Servo speed, 0.39 - 9 seconds per 45 degrees
- Deadband adjustment
- Servo travel adjustment left and right separately, approx. 50 - 175
- starting power
- Damping
- Holding force
- ID storage

The new HPS servo technology
High power with lower power consumption - how does that work?

Put simply: At the beginning of a servo movement (start-up behaviour), a considerably larger current pulse is sent to the new HPS servo motor for a very short time than with previous servo motors. However, as the servo movement progresses, the HPS motors developed by Futaba engineers and the associated HPS control system require considerably less energy to maintain the power. This results in a significantly lower current drain from the battery over the operating time, i.e. the operating time is noticeably and measurably extended with the same battery. This advantage can only be exploited if all the necessary conditions are right and all the components are optimally matched to each other. This is especially true for the power supply of the receiving system and the servos.

The following instructions apply in general to every receiving system when powerful servos are used, but especially when using the HPS servos:

The power supply must be optimised in each individual component for all conditions that occur. This applies to the entire functional chain and begins with the choice of battery and only ends directly at the servo. In the case of HPS servos, it is primarily a matter of being able to supply the servo with short-term, high pulse currents (peaks) over the entire functional chain (see Start-up behaviour of HPS servos), and not necessarily high continuous currents. Only then can the performance of the HPS servos be fully utilised.

The power supply must be dimensioned in such a way that a constant continuous current supply is guaranteed and any voltage fluctuations that occur (caused by current peaks) are kept as low as possible in order to prevent "re-booting" of receivers or gyros etc. (see below).
