The special feature of the new CAM folding airscrews are the enormous innovations compared to the classicPROP. This new generation, developed by R. Freudenthaler, has an optimized very thin profile design and a computer-calculated profile tract, resulting in very high accuracy with optimum efficiency at low power consumption of the motor.
CAM? What is that?
CAM is English and means "Computer Aided Manufacturing". The molds for the injection molding process are no longer made by hand, as was the case with the previous classicPROP, but are developed on a PC using a CAD program (Computer Aided Design). The production of these molds is then controlled by the PC on the basis of the data fed in. This is an enormous advantage, as a more accurate mold can hardly be produced and the final propeller has practically no deviations from the master model.
The weight

The Material
The material used is exclusively a mixture of carbon fibers with nylon which gives the propeller a high torsional strength and has proven itself for years in our propellers. Carbon is a very strong material, the propeller therefore retains its shape, even under high loads. This is of course an advantage over fiberglass plastic propellers, which achieve different efficiencies under high loads than a CAMcarbon!
