Despite the large wingspan of 1600mm, the FlightLineRC P-38 is easy to handle and store. The outer wings can be easily removed with four screws, then the P-38 stands on its 3-leg landing gear. The many details of the original were painstakingly reproduced. The landing gear doors alone are controlled by 5 servos, the built-in door sequencer takes over this demanding task.
Many small scale details such as engine hoods, dummy exhaust pipes, the high-altitude loaders or the machine guns are made of GRP. All of this leads to an appearance that is still looking for competition. All rudders have their own servo and are controlled by short, direct linkages. All 4 landing flaps and the Daybright LED's are also installed. The large fuselage cover is held in place by strong magnets and can be removed with a flick of the wrist. It frees up ample space for the battery and RC system.
The drive, with its counter-rotating propellers a masterpiece in itself, gives the FlightLineRC P-38 brilliant flight performance, coupled with the tame landing characteristics, these make up the special appeal of this model.
