His passion for RC aerobatic flying also led to a strong interest in full-scale aerobatic flying. RJ designed a new scheme for his Decathlon for the 2024 airshow season and was also involved in the development of this one-of-a-kind model that's capable of smooth sport flying along with more aggressive aerobatic flying too! It features LED landing and navigation lights plus a variety of scale details to deliver an authentic flying experience perfect for low-time and intermediate pilots interested in honing their aerobatic skills, and experienced pilots focused on performing the most aggressive aerobatics. Digital and metal-geared servos along with ball-link equipped linkages provide precise and reliable control for smooth sport to aggressive aerobatic flying. Skill Level 3 aircraft, like this one, are suitable for more experienced RC pilots with the skills to assemble, set up, and fly similar class models. This PNP version requires more experience and skills to assemble and fly than the BNF Basic version because you must install a receiver that does not already include properly tuned AS3X and SAFE Select technologies. It’s not a suitable first-ever RC aircraft for new pilots or “next step after a trainer” model for low-time to intermediate RC pilots. You should have the experience and skills necessary to assemble and successfully fly models like the E-flite T-28 Trojan 1.1m, Valiant 1.3m, Turbo Timber Evolution 1.5m, or other similar class models before attempting to fly the Decathlon RJG 1.2m.

The Plug-N-Play (PNP) version comes out of the box with a factory-installed power system and servos that are ready to connect to the compatible receiver of your choice (sold separately), for use with the transmitter and battery you provide (also sold separately). Simply install the receiver, finish any final assembly, and fly!
