Grumman Goose
Originally designed by Grumman as an eight-seat business aircraft. It first flew in 1937 and was powered by two Pratt&Whtney R-985 Wasp radial engines.
The Goose was used by the U.S. Navy, U.S. Army Air Corps and Coast Guard during World War II. After World War II, the Goose was frequently used as a civilian aircraft, for example, in scheduled service between mainland California and Catalina Island. Or in Canada and Alaska, where it is still in use to transport fishermen and hunters to remote areas.
The model:
The model is designed as a ''sport'' model. The model is sized to fly lightly and unobtrusively, so you can fly it in windier conditions. Since the model is divisible, it can be easily transported in a small car.
It is a quiet ''scale'' flying model, a very suitable model for both the experienced pilot and the beginning seaplane pilot.
Since the model can be flown from the field as well as from the water, it makes a nice addition to your hangar.
The model is built entirely of balsa and plywood. All parts fit together using the tab and slot principle. Construction is done with step by step illustrated building instructions and NOT from a drawing. The landing gear can be made functional, there is a clear explanation in the manual.
The model comes with all laser cut parts, planking, spars, wing tubes, various fittings for main landing gear and tail wheel and control rods.
Radial engine dummies are not included in the kit.
