TAMIYA X- and XF-acrylic paints are manufactured from water-soluble acrylic resins and are ideal for brush painting or for application with airbrush sprayers. These colours can be used on styrene resins, styrofoam, wood and all common model plastics. For better adhesion we recommend a previous primer (TAMIYA Primer e.g. 300087044 Primer White) of the respective material. The paint covers well, flows smoothly and is easy to mix. The paint can be washed away with normal water before curing.
- Colours marked "X" have a glossy finish, while colours marked "XF" have a matt finish.
- For application with airbrush sprayers (0.25 - 0.50 mm depending on the nozzle used), the X/XF paints should be diluted with TAMIYA X-20A Acrylic Thinner (300081020, 300081030 or 300081040).
- The X-/XF colours can also be diluted with the TAMIYA Lacquer Thinner (300087077). This allows a faster drying result and a harder surface finish.
- By adding the TAMIYA Paint Retarder (300087114) you get a smoother surface after drying (max. mixing ratio 1:10).
